What We Did! (Summer)
We always check the activities supplied by the resort. I've included a sample from our last summer trip. Click Here If you want to check the calendar at the resort itself Click Here as well as their events calendar Click Here. After we determined what (if any) resort activities we are going to do, we then plan our week.

One of our first priorities is Devils Lake. I can email you direction if it's something you want to do. In 2007 the wanted $10 for an all day parking pass to out of state residence. We've gone here every year for I don't know how long. If you like hiking this is definitely the place for you. I've rock climbed here as well and it was great - a real fun day. You can rent boats and canoes and fish (although a license is $30 for a day). I've included some pictures so you can see how beautiful this park is. That view from the top is a short hike with lots of stairs - but worth every step! An unbelievable view! (Click on the pictures for a larger views.)

In the summer we always take in at least one waterpark. If you are going to a Hotels waterpark call ahead and make sure they can take you. They only take so many unregistered guests a day. Call those with *.
What's nice about Mount Olympus is they have go-karts and roller coasters as well as the waterpark. Check out the web sites and pick your poison. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Wisconsin Dells was known for years as the mini golf capitol. If this is you thing, I recommend Pirates Cove. There is another one I personally have never played called Timber Falls. I heard this was a pretty fun place too (again check the sites). If you have a younger crew there is a low key mini golf in downtown Dells called Old River & Totem Pole Mini Golf . This place tends to be less expensive and less crowded.

One or two nights we may go to the Ho-Chunk Casino. It's not as friendly as Vegas, but with the new games they added (including a poker room) it is a good time. If you do plan to play poker you call the casino two hours ahead of time to get on the waiting list for seats. This is 100% recommended.

If you have the right age group Wizard Quest can be a blast. Best described - it's a question scavenger hunt that is timed. It located downtown right next to Ripley's Believe It or Not.

If you like candy (salt water taffy and fudge especially) you need to walk around downtown dells and visit the candy shops. They also have the general tourist goods and a few restaurants. Not a bad few hours in the afternoon. See more at downtown-dells.com

While we were in Baraboo (Devil's Lake) we ate a great place called The Log Cabin. It was a very cool restaurant with good food. Other places we like to eat special at include Ishnala, Farm Kitchen and Pedro's. For breakfast and lunch, Grandma Honey's in the dells and The Alpine in Baraboo are good choices. Don't overlook the food at the resort - the food is very good.

We use the pools at the resort. If you stay in the Timbers you will fell like you own the thing. The main pool is a little more active with music etc . . . definitely more of an upbeat fun place. (Picture is of the Timbers Pool - All ours!)

One of the resort activities I took in was the chair lift ride to the top ($2 per person). You have to walk down though so be ready. One of the great things was that you could bring a picnic with you and eat at the top. A great way to spend a low key evening. I liked it.

If you've never been to the Dells you HAVE to ride the famous Wisconsin Ducks - just to say you did. And, you should see the Tommy Bartlett's Water Show. If you have younger kids the Story Book Gardens is charming (a little pricey for what it was, but it's vacation). Other things that we've done in the past that we were glad we did were Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Baraboo Zoo, Deer Park in the dells is also a unique experience. If you have time, a drive down to House on the Rock can be very interesting. It's a lot of walking so be prepared. You can only get food on tour two and tour three so prepare accordingly.
